Freedom Friday: The Birds of a Feather Edition

Hello Good People!

At one point in your life, someone has said the following: “Birds of a feather flock together” or “Show me your friends and I will tell you who you are”.  Usually when I heard these proverbs, the person was trying to warn me of the company I was keeping.  Most recently, I heard a new spin on the adage from Jim Rohn,  “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”.     Hearing it this way really resonated with me.  I started thinking about the people around me especially those I consider members of my support circle.  I know that everyone is on a different life journey, but there should be something about each of these persons that you admire and add to your life.
At one point in my life, I used to “fall” into relationships.  I actually would just invite everyone in.  The more the merrier, right?  Well yes,but not in your inner circle.  You have to carefully consider if the people who surround you are a reflection of the person you want to become…mentally, spiritually, financially, etc.   We must be thoughtful and purposeful in the selection of friends, business partners, clients, employers and especially spouses.  I believe the best way to do this is to talk to God who should be one of the five people you spend the most time with anyways! 🙂  If you start there, then you will be led by your spirit about the relationships in your life.
So who are the people you spend the most time with?
Peace and Blessings, ThatKellieGirl
