Music Monday

Hello Good People!

I’m back and I truly missed you.  I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving as much as I did.  To get the most out of the holiday, I decided to totally unplug and disconnect so I could reconnect with my loved ones.  I really enjoyed the down time, and it gave me a great opportunity to find some more fantastic music.  I brought back from home some great finds.

Believe it or not, ThatKellieGirl is a cratedigger.  I found some Harry Belafonte records from the 1950s, and a mint condition Fandango album from Herb Alpert.  Each were only $1! 🙂 Can’t wait to play them tonight.  I also collect movie posters so I was elated when my older sister found and gave me her “Boys N the Hood” movie poster, which I will be promptly framing and hanging.  As teenagers, we would buy movie posters of our favorite movies from the local video rental store.  We might have made a good investment. 🙂

I also was able to find some new soul sounds to share.  Singer, songwriter, producer Geoffrey Williams caught my attention when he covered Meshell N’Degeocello’s “I’m Digging You (Like an Old Soul Record)”. I really love his soulful groove!

So I was very happy to find his bandcamp page.  Listen here to his EP introducing the album ‘Yes is the Answer!’.  Can’t wait to hear more from Mr. Geoffrey Williams.  Enjoy!

Have a great week!  Peace and Blessings, ThatKellieGirl
