Music Monday

TGIM!

What’s up good folks?! 🙂

I always get a kick out of hearing the original songs that so many current artists sample.  At times, I am more impressed with the original rather than the sample.  It also makes me wonder if anyone can create an original piece of music without  sampling or using fruity loops software.  But that’s a whole other discussion, and that isn’t where I want to go right now.   Instead, let’s focus on one of my favorite songs, “Who Do You Love?”

Many folks know the song, and even more know the sample. However, the mastermind behind this great song is Bernard Wright.

He began his career as a session musician, but in 1981, he released his debut album, ‘Nard.  Again, you might not know the album, but you know the tracks thanks to the samples by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and LL Cool J to name a few.

Don’t you love it! 🙂

Enjoy the rest of your Monday.
