ThatKellieGirl missed everyone yesterday, but I hope you enjoyed Emancipation Day in the District. It was a beautiful day, so I decided to take advantage of the weather to check out some banquet halls for my wedding reception next year. I am trying to get a head start on booking venues so I can get the day that I really want. And so far so good until I started looking at prices. 😦 All I can say is to start saving NOW if you even THINK you are going to get married one day. And if you don’t get married, at least you will have a nice savings set aside.
I find myself in a quandary because I really do want to celebrate this wonderful occasion with my family and friends, but I just can’t wrap my brain around spending goob gobs of money to (pretty much) entertain guests who might not even bring a gift! To help resolve these feelings, I have decided that we are going to have a small wedding– CLOSE family and friends. I don’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings and it isn’t personal, but people have to realize that we have to do what fits in our budget.
So after hot day, I came home to find the sweet sounds of Eric Roberson in my email to soothe me. He has a new video for his song “At The Same Time” premiering at the Singers Room. This single is from his latest album “Mister Nice Guy”. And it comes just in time, as he kicks off his “Mister Nice Guy” tour on April 26th. Eric’s tour comes to the DMV on May 26 at the Birchmere.
