Good Morning Good Folks.
TGIM! 🙂
I don’t know about you, but I have a hectic week ahead. I have something to do after work everyday. However, I am looking forward to Hump Day at Lincoln Theater. I will be enjoying performances by two of my favorite gospel groups…BeBe and CeCe Winans and Mary, Mary.
I am particularly excited to see the Winans duo. BeBe and CeCe duo is calling it quits. If you grew up in the church like I did, then songs from the Winans Family are a part of the soundtrack of your life. The Winans Family is known for saaannnging some good gospel music. However, BeBe and CeCe, the 7th and 8th of 12 siblings, brought a R&B sound transforming the gospel genre in the ’80s and ’90s. This new sound set the stage for others such as Kirk Franklin, Trin-i-tee 5:7 and Mary, Mary.
The siblings embark on a week of shows that started in Detroit with a final farewell at New York’s Madison Square Garden. One of my many goals is to see as many legends before they retire. I am doing pretty good. I am still trying to get that Stevie Wonder ticket. 🙂 Anyhoo…
Here is one of my fav BeBe and CeCe songs. Enjoy!
