Hey Good People! I hope each and every one of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I was able to spend some quality time with the family, eat my favorite dishes that only my Mom can make, and to count my blessings.
For those of you who braved the crowds of Black Friday, I hope you found what you were looking for for a great price. I decided not to participate in Black Friday this year. This is probably at least my 4th or 5th year not participating. I must admit though that I was quite tickled yesterday when the Boo and I went to a late night movie. We drove by Old Navy, Best Buy and WalMart and folks were standing in line IN THE COLD RAIN waiting for the doors to open. Some folks had even pitched a tent! I was very amused. I guess folks will do anything for a bargain discount. Anyhoo…
In the meantime, you can check out some events. Be safe out there! 😉
National Harbor will kick off the holiday season by lighting up the night sky with fireworks and a 60 ft Christmas tree decorated with 20,000 lights. With hot chocolate and roasted nuts to keep visitors warm, the tree lighting will include story-telling and an ornament-making workshop from the National Children’s Museum as well as performances by Abbey Miller, Rashida Jolley, and the cast from Spirit of Christmas! The evening’s finale will be a spectacular light show featuring the lighting of the National Harbor Christmas Tree and fireworks.

This Saturday, indulge your Thanksgiving cravings for celebration with soul sensation, Bilal, and special guest Yahzarah, performing live at The Black Cat in Washington, DC. Bilal’s debut recording, “1st Born Second,” helped create a sonic identity for the new millenium with instant classics like, “Soul Sista,” “Sometimes,” and “Fastlane.” Almost a decade later, Bilal continues to trailblaze with this year’s “Airtight’s Revenge” — keeping it funky with “Cake & Eat It Too,” romantic with “Restart,” and sentimental with “Think It Over.” Before Bilal takes the stage, DC’s own Yahzarah will kick off the night with fashion and vocal flares, showing the seasoned showmanship she gained from becoming a singer in church, recording two solo albums, and touring with Erykah Badu and The Foreign Exchange.
