For the ThatKellieGirl, the Olympics came right on time. It was the motivation I need to make my way back into the gym. Like seriously, all of those six packs and toned arms and legs made me a little envious! LOL 🙂 However, these Olympians are a physical testament to the benefits of hard work, discipline and perseverance. I truly enjoyed watching and rooting on these athletes competing for gold. It made me realize the beauty of struggle. These athletes tested their mental and physical endurance as well as their dedication and will-power in order to achieve their ultimate goal– GOLD. And even if they didn’t achieve gold or any medal, they are still recognized as the best in the world. They are true examples of how each of us must struggle to achieve our dreams. So when you pass that certification exam, start that business, lose weight or begin saving money, when you will look back, you will truly appreciate the road that brought you there.
Enjoy the weekend!
Peace and Blessings, ThatKellieGirl
Come mingle with your fellow DMV professionals while celebrating a great cause, CareerGear.org! The purpose of this event minus the fun times, networking and mingling is to collect men’s ties (neckwear) that will be donated to Career Gear (Careergear.org) as a part of their Job Readiness Program that provides interview clothing for men.
For every two (2) ties donated, one (1) can be swapped with another attendee. In other words, if you show up with three (3) ties, you get to leave with one that you did not bring with you. If you bring four (4), you get to leave with two (2) etc.

You are cordially invited to a very special evening of music and tribute. The party we have planned for you truly has all the ingredients to make a monumental event. The night will kick off with live vocal performances from up and coming artists recently featured on various house labels such as Dejavoo Records (Spain) & South Sole Elements (Italy). The event will then shift attention to our guest of honor DC’s legendary Sam ‘The Man’ Burns. We will take the time to recognize and present an award to ‘The Man’ for all he has given to the city and scene through the years. DJ I.O.U. will follow the presentation with a set to keep the night groovin and movin on into the morning hours.
