For full disclosure, ThatKellieGirl and Words Axis go waaaaay back. 🙂 We actually used to work at Karibu Bookstore back in the day. It was one of the best experiences of my early years in the DMV. And I met so many talented and creative people there that I am still in contact today. So it doesn’t surprise that Word Axis has emerged as a dynamic and powerful lyricist.
However, Words Axis began rhyming well before I met him. At the age of nine, Words Axis began his journey as a writer. Influenced by graphic short story lines, Axis wrote his first rhyme at age 11. However upon hearing Run-DMC, Big Daddy Kane, and LL Cool J, to name a few, he was captivated by the world of hip-hop music.
Words Axis has been on the underground Hip-Hop music scene in the DMV and now in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Open mics, mix tapes, and compilations have been has platform over the past several years, and he is thankful for every opportunity to have his voice heard on a more personalized level.
When asked what he intends to achieve with his music, Words Axis he states “My mission as I grow through my music, is to help others grow as a result. Outside of that, I just want to add my unique flavor to the mix, and do so progressively.”
