Dandies and Quaintrelles, Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens, and Holly Bass Performance Projects are bringing Jazz Age style back to Hillwood for a day of fun and leisure with the Seersucker Ride and Social 2012. A leisurely bicycle ride through the scenic streets of Washington, D.C., will be followed by an afternoon of picnicking, croquet and badminton, and live jazz performed by Dandy Wellington and his band. The Mansion and gardens at Hillwood will also be open for strolling, while a hands-on paper hat-making activity offers an outlet for the creative side. Beer, wine, sparkling wine, specialty cocktails, and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Food, vegetarian and non-vegetarian, will be on sale from popular local food trucks.

A day of music, film, food and festivities! CapitalBop’s D.C. Jazz Loft Series at the DC Jazz Festival culminates in the Jazz Loft MegaFest, where the loft space at 629 New York Ave. NW will be turned into a pop-up shop, art gallery, improvised music venue, movie theater, eatery and more! Four bands will perform, including the danceable, futurist sounds of Marc Cary‘s Cosmic Indigenous feat. Awa Sangho. Food and drink will be provided by the Taste of DC.
