Freedom Friday

D.C.’s favorite son, Raheem DeVaughn a.k.a. “Radio Rah” is back on the scene with his latest “The Love & War MasterPeace.”

Raheem has gone back to his roots which is what propelled him in the limelight in the first place.  I remember how I would hunt for his mixtapes, The Street Experience Volumes 1-5.  They were creative, soulful, political, spiritual, raw, uplifting, and sexy.  I loved several of his remixes better than the original songs.    I now cherish those CDs as I watch him evolve as an artist and succeed in the music industry.

When I heard his single “Bulletproof,”  I breathed a sigh of relief.  The world was finally going to witness the Raheem we knew from Bar Nun, Takoma Station and the Blue Room to name a few.  Since the beginning, Raheem has been is singing for and about the people– about their struggles, love and life.  This is the Raheem DeVaughn we love.
