Hey Folks!

I hope you are ready for the week.  If not, I have a couple of things that might help you out.

First up, Deborah Bond’s newest album Madam Palindrome is out.  If anyone knows Deborah Bond, you know that she puts her heart and soul into making GOOD music.  Her fun-loving, good-natured energy is just infectious.  The honey and I stopped through WPFW and Ms. Bond was prepping  for her interview on Soul Conversations with the wonderful Kimberly Washington.   She was bursting with so much pride as we previewed the artwork for her album and gave us a sneak peek of her video for “You are the One”.    I won’t give it away, but it is fun, fresh and very creative!  It will be on some heavy rotation on VH1 Soul!   Go get Madam Palindrome here.

Also this week….

This Friday, (7/22), Dance DC Festival and Cast of Characters present an original production paying homage to DC’s soul hero Marvin Gaye, SIMPLY MARVIN: LIVE @ THE SUGAR SHACK. 

Featuring Eric Roberson, Mri Ben-Ari, Levi Stephens and Tamara Wellons and dance performances by Capitol Movement, Urban Artistry, DC Casineros, and DB’s MVP’s.  Hosted by radio/tv personality Jeannie Jones (Ms. Kitty of the City 93.9 WKYS).  It is free and open to the public so, get there early! SEATS ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! RSVP doesn’t guarantee admission.  The event will be at the Warner Theater (513 13th St NW).  Doors open at 7pm.

Soul Bounce and Sutra Lounge have teamed up to bring us “The Bleuphoria Experience with Rahsaan Patterson” tomorrow (7/19)  for the release of his newest album.  You must rsvp here for entry at Sutra Lounge (2406 18th Street, NW ).
