Music Monday: The Merry Christmas Eve Edition

Hello Good Folks,

Merry Christmas Eve! :-)

The tree is up, stockings are hung, presents are gift bagged and ThatKellieGirl is finishing her baking.  Other than praying that my pies turn out right, ThatKellieGirl is jus relaxing.  To stay in the chill mode, check out  The Sure Co., Diggs Duke and DJ Apple Jac featuring Jessica Newry.

The Sure Co. is a brand new collaboration between drummer Richard Spaven and pianist Grant Windsor. The project also features Neville Malcolm on bass. While working on many projects both touring and recording together – José James, Gregory Porter, Nailah Porter, Ty – Richard, Grant and Neville often discussed putting together a band. It has finally happened and the result is the beautiful album 5ive.

The vocalist is accompanied by D.C.-native, violinist and songwriter Vaughan Octavia who performed the violin parts in the song.  Visit Duke’s bandcamp site here to get familiar.  I am excited to hear more from Duke.
